My Introduction to the World of Film

From a young age, I have been interested in film and all its wonders. Whenever a friend asks how a movie was, my answer has never been simply an "it was ok" or "it was good," but rather a long rant that most people probably wouldn't want to listen to. I have found myself over analyzing films to the point where I would be thinking, "Are those glasses relevant to the time period?” instead just watching the film for entertainment.

I can't say there was a defining moment when I realized that I wanted to work in film, but I can say I was certain after seeing the movie, The Dark Knight. The film was not only visually stimulating, but had great depth in all aspects. The impeccable details made it clear that a career in film production was what I must pursue.

In the words of Bob Dylan, "A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what he wants to do." I decided to become an RTF major to follow a passion of mine. RTF 305 is the stepping-stone for the rest of my education in film. With this course, I believe I will have a grasp on media and how I can one day become apart of it.
Seeing that this is my first blog, here's a link to one of my personal favorites.
